QUADRILLO

The Quadrillo is one of the most fascinating objects of Procida's popular memory, suspended between devotion, symbolism and mystery.

Created in the 17th century as a small artifact intended to house and protect a sacred relic, the quadrillo initially belonged to the realm of the sacred domestic: a precious object, passed down and guarded with respect, an expression of the island's profound spirituality.

Over time, however, its meaning transformed, becoming intertwined with popular beliefs and the most intimate dimension of femininity. The women of Procida began using it as a symbolic and almost divinatory instrument, attributing to it the power to read the future, interpret destiny, and guard secrets of the heart. Between ritual, superstition, and collective imagination, the quadrillo thus became a magical object, capable of crossing the boundary between faith and popular tradition.

The print reinterpreted in this collection translates the visual and symbolic universe of Quadrillo into a contemporary language: evocative geometries, ornamental details, and references to Procida's material culture are transformed into textile signs that tell the story of an island rich in history, memory, and mystery.

A wearable narrative, where Procida's cultural heritage meets contemporary sartorial elegance.
