MADONNA
Inspired by the Sanctuary of Madonna delle Grazie, which overlooks the village of Marina di Corricella, this creation pays homage to one of the most beloved places on the island: the fishermen's church, a spiritual refuge for a community that has entrusted its hopes, departures and returns to the sea. A print born from the silent and profound devotion that pervades Procida, where the sacred is intertwined with everyday life and the sea has always accompanied every prayer.
Its inspiration stems from a deeply felt tradition: "the month of July," a time of reflection and gratitude when, at dawn, the women of Procida gather at the sanctuary every day to chant the ancient rosary and give thanks to the Madonna. A ritual of voices intertwining in the early morning light, of time-honored devotion, and of a simple, intense, and profoundly feminine spirituality. The print captures and reinterprets the sanctuary's most precious details: the decorative friezes of the altar, the small stars of the Madonna's crown—symbols of protection and light—and the unmistakable shape of the windows that dot the dome, transformed into graphic elements with an elegant and contemporary rhythm.
To further preserve the memory of this place, the ruffles of some dresses feature the lettering of the ancient 17th-century sung rosary, a fragment of voice restored to the material, like a poetic trace of faith and belonging. Ancient words become signs, movements, and narratives. This print celebrates a devotion that belongs not only to the past, but lives on in the gestures, rituals, and shared memory of the island. A visual narrative in which spirituality, tradition, and beauty meet in a refined and luminous balance.
